Responsibilities:
This position reports directly to the Plant Financial Controller and is responsible for the supervision of 8 direct reports. The role is responsible for the delivery of the following functions:
• Financial Reporting - Monthly/Quarterly/Annual reporting of the business performance, including preparation of statutory & management reports.
• Provide timely & accurate management reporting, including operational & capital expenditures reporting and analysis of the business & financial trends, outlook & forecasts.
• Management of accounting, finance, audit, tax related matters which include dealing with external auditors, tax advisers, bankers, insurance brokers, government agencies & etc.
• Review reconciliations performed by direct reports on monthly subsidiary-ledgers’ report vs. general ledger accounts and resolve any arising reconciliations issue.
• Provide direction to the inventory control function to ensure that inventories are in line with company’s production plans & inventory policies.
• Continuous review of cost accounting system and general accounting processes to ensure that these system and process support business goals and improve work productivity within the company.
• Review internal controls of the company to ensure that proper controls are operating efficiently and in-compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Works with various business teams / functional departments to provide financial expertise on business projects and identify the key value drivers & risks for each business project.
• Assist in the on-going improvement of financial & business processes
• Championing the cost improvement programs within the company
• Any other ad-hoc duties, project works, etc. as assigned by the senior management.
 
Requirements:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications, experiences, skills or attributes:
• At least a recognized Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with professional accountancy qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalents).
• 8 - 10 years of relevant MNC manufacturing experiences (with cost accounting & inventory control management) and have been involved in preparing annual budgets and monthly business forecasts.
• Organized, analytical and profit oriented, detailed and proactive; able to work in a complex and fast- paced environment; able to work under pressure to meet tight timelines when required.
• Good understanding of US GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards and also compliance requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Strong team-player with ability to work across cultures, and build rapport and collaborative working
relationships with all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of QAD Mfg-Pro or similar ERP Systems; understanding of Hyperion Financial System, and proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel and Powerpoint) are preferred.
