Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage all aspects of the care and cleaning of guest and employee laundry, dry cleaning and hotel linen in compliance to brand’s standard.
Supervise select, train, coach, and counsel staff. Maintain Starwood policies and procedures. Schedule staff in accordance to occupancy demands.
Manage the administrative functions of the laundry department. Process paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, conducts and oversee inventory of linen, comply production information for reporting purposes, and perform forecasting and department budget on a monthly and annual basis.
Oversee the quality of product produced, ensuring that all equipment is in good, working order and that the department is operating in accordance to health, security safety regulations.
To closely work with Chief Engineer to conduct and schedule preventive maintenance program of laundry machine equipments, and report malfunctioning equipment immediately for prompt repair.
Conduct regular department meetings with staff to inform them of pertinent information, such as safety in the workplace, hotel events, retraining, and guest/occupancy.
Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and teamwork to exceed guest and associate satisfaction. Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring consumption and ordering of chemical, replacement of guest and cleaning supplies.
Implement, and champion all Starwood Cares Programs and Service Cultures such as Star Improvement System; Star Customer Experience; and Star Recognition program.
Take fully responsibility to implement Star Voice priority action items or activities to continuously improve associate satisfaction.
Apply Star Recovery system to resolve any guest complaints following the hotel standards and procedures.
Other:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subjected to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subjected to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
May be required to work any of the positions in the laundry.
Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by superior, and to adhere to health, safety and security standards.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Primary/Secondary School/SPM/"O" Level, Professional Certificate, Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Management or equivalent.
Required skill(s): Galaxy, Excel.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Managers specializing in Hotel Management/Tourism Services or equivalent. Job role in Hotel Housekeeping or Management.
