Research Assistant (Project Coordinator) (ref. 15050)

We are seeking a dynamic individual to act as the project coordinator for the Bristol Girls Dance Project. The Bristol Girls Dance Project is a 22-month study that focuses on engaging Year 7 (11-12 year-olds) in an after-school dance program as a means of increasing their physical activity levels. The project involves developing and then conducting a pilot test of the program. (Expert dance content knowledge is provided by our external collaborators). You will organise and lead all aspects of the formative work (i.e. interviews and focus groups) that will be conducted to design the intervention and the pilot test of the intervention. Educated to Masters level (or equivalent), and with experience of research within the school setting, you will be highly effective in collecting and handling data, and will have excellent communication skills.
This position is funded for 22 months (January 2010-October 2011). If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or a permanent contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience.
